An inspector sent me an email stating his experience with the $3 mortgage drive-by inspections. It is usually no problem finding firms offering thousands of the $3 mortgage inspections as the turnover in mortgage inspectors is tremendous. The national mortgage field service firms are making huge profits while the inspectors at the bottom barely break even after expenses. The situation is getting worse as gasoline prices are on a sharp uptrend. There is much more in the field services industry away from the $3 mortgage inspections.
I worked with [National Mortgage Field Services Firm Name Deleted] for three weeks trying my best to make it work and after three weeks I told them that I just could not support my family on the money I was making with them. They said that it was is okay because there was another vendor waiting for my area and he can do it for the $3 per inspection that they were paying. They also said that this vendor covers several other areas too.
I guess they hire other people to complete the inspections and is a middle man himself. Although there was quantity it was spread out so much and the due dates were so different that it was just impossible for me to make it work. I feel sorry for the people that the other vendor hires because I'll bet he winds up not paying them for their work and keeping the money for himself.
